Background
10 When associated with research activities WHO staff are guided by the WHO Code of Good Research Practice [under development] as recommended in the WHO strategy on research for health.
20 The Code provides guidance on research practice to ensure high quality research, ethical behaviour and the sharing of research tools, data and published findings to ensure maximum public benefit. It supplements the mandatory requirements set out in the following Information notes:
- 27/2004: Standards of Conduct for the International Civil Service;
- 24/2004: Secretariat Committee on Health Involving Human Subjects (SCRIHS);
- 44/2006: WHO Whistleblower Protection Policy;
- 16/2007: Establishment of a WHO Guidelines Review Committee and
- 14/2009: Research Ethics Review Committee Charges.
