10 When travel takes place in economy class or in premium economy class that has been downgraded from business class, and departure is before midnight and arrival is after midnight (overnight travel), 50% of the per diem rate for the city of arrival on the outbound journey, and the city of departure on the return journey, is payable.
20 When arrival time at destination on the outbound journey is between midnight and 6am, thereby requiring a hotel to be taken, the actual cost paid for the hotel for that night may be claimed in the Travel Claim.
30 For travel within 1 day and exceeding 10 hours, a special subsistence allowance of 50% of the normal per diem rate is paid. This does not apply to local travel by road. For the purpose of this article, local travel is considered to be within a 60km radius of the duty station, however, this may be adjusted to suit local context.
40 In case of involuntary stopover in route (i.e. there is no timely connecting flight available), full per diem is paid for the city of the stopover, unless the airline pays for the hotel and meal accommodation.
41 The travel allowance (see section VII.5.5 paragraph 10) is not payable for involuntary stopovers when accommodation provided does not require transport, or transport between airport and accommodation is provided free of charge.
