10. The Administrative Officer/Operations Officer (AO/OO) and the Human Resources (HR) focal point in the Country Office (WCO) are primarily responsible for coordinating and taking action at the end of a staff member's/consultant's deployment. The Designated HR Team oversees the process and takes any relevant actions under their responsibility as described below.

20. The RO/HQ HR Team, through regular discussions with the Country Office and/or Regional Office (RO), maintains an overview of all deployments to an event site.​

30. At least four weeks (if the deployment is three months or longer) or two weeks (if the duration of the deployment is three months or less) prior to the end of a deployment, the First Level Supervisor informs deployed personnel if their services will continue to be needed or not, and will initiate an extension of the contract or initiate separation and ending of the deployment.​

40. As part of the exit formalities in WCO, the HR focal point notifies the staff member/consultant of the separation/clearance formalities and uses the Pre-Departure Debriefing Checklist to monitor the completion of these actions.
