10 Under the provisions of the Organization Personal Accident and Illness insurance (OPAII) policies contracted by the Organization (see Annex 7.C), staff members are insured during air travel provided that they travel as passengers.
20 The following will apply in connection with flights by several persons on the same aircraft:-
- Whenever staff members, consultants or temporary advisers are to travel together on one aircraft, the total compensation payable in case of accident under the terms of the accident and illness insurance policies must not exceed $ 15,000,000.
- In the circumstances described in the paragraph above, the Travel Officer (Regional General Services Officer) is responsible for sending to Coordinator, Insurance and Pension Services at headquarters, at least five full working days but no later than 2 full working days before the flight takes place, a note giving:
o the details of the flight (date, itinerary, hour of departure, flight number);
o the names and staff numbers of the persons to be insured travelling on the flight;
o for staff members outside headquarters, the name, capacity, grade (Professional or General Service) and if they are single or with dependants;
o for persons not on the headquarters payroll, the annual salary rate and amount of post adjustment payable, if applicable, and if they are single or with dependants.
