10 WHO exercises copyright over its publications to make sure that they are used in accordance with the Organization’s principles and policies. While WHO makes its published information available open access (see section VIII.6.10), the Organization does not place its publications in the public domain (see Information Note 13/2007).
20 Materials produced by WHO staff as part of their official duties are the property of the Organization (see Staff Rule 120, Copyright and patent rights). WHO copyright should, as a matter of principle, remain with WHO and should not be assigned to external entities (see Information Note 13/2007).
