10 As of 11 November 2016, WHO publications are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO licence (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 IGO; see section VIII.6.10). Under the terms of this licence, users may translate the work for non-commercial purposes, provided an appropriate citation is included, and the translation is licensed under the same or equivalent Creative Commons licence. Use beyond the terms of this licence requires permission to be obtained from WHO.
20 Requests for the rights to translate and publish WHO publications issued before 11 November 2016 for commercial and non-commercial purposes will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
30 A form for requesting the rights to translate and publish WHO publications is available on the WHO headquarters internet site and on some regional office internet sites. These rights are usually granted through a contractual agreement (Agreement for granting translation and publication rights). Copyright is not retained in such translations.
