10   All WHO publications must carry the following copyright notice:

© World Health Organization [year]

20   A standard disclaimer, available from WHO Press or the office of publications concerned, should also be included in or on the publication in association with the copyright notice (see Information Note 33/2016). Where relevant (when the views expressed do not necessarily represent WHO’s views or policies), the disclaimer should include a note identifying the person(s) or group(s) responsible for the content. Exceptions to the standard disclaimers may be made when one or more of the standard paragraphs clearly do not apply; WHO Press (or the office of publications concerned) should be consulted for advice on adapted or specially worded disclaimers.

25   Draft versions of WHO publications should not be published, except in cases where comments are to be solicited on the draft (see section VIII.3.3) and the draft has been cleared for publication (see section VIII.1.4). WHO Press (or the office of publications concerned) should be consulted for advice on the appropriate disclaimer, which should be included on the cover and title page of the document, together with the WHO copyright notice (see paragraph 10).

30   In the case of contributions by WHO staff members to external publications (see section VIII.6.3), one of the following disclaimers should be included, either as a footnote or in the acknowledgements section.

Disclaimer for use where the authors are all WHO staff members

The authors are staff members of the World Health Organization. The authors alone are responsible for the views expressed in this publication and they do not necessarily represent the decisions or policies of the World Health Organization.

Disclaimer for use where authors from external institutions are involved

The authors alone are responsible for the views expressed in this article and they do not necessarily represent the views, decisions or policies of the institutions with which they are affiliated.

40   If external publications authored or co-authored by WHO staff include maps (see section VIII.2.9), the WHO copyright notice (see paragraph 10) and following disclaimer should be included as a footnote.

The designations employed and the presentation of the material in this publication do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of WHO concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area or of its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries. Dotted and dashed lines on maps represent approximate border lines for which there may not yet be full agreement.
