10 If data can be made publicly available (see section XXII.3.4), data sets should be deposited in an appropriate data repository, with a persistent identifier, such as a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) or a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and under an open licence, such as the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. A metadata record describing the data sets should be created (see section XXII.6.3, paragraph 80).
