Responsibility of the Organization for the maintenance of WHO fixed assets
10 The Organization shall aim to maintain, store and use assets in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and locally applicable legislation as a minimum standard.
Responsibility of staff when using WHO fixed assets
20 WHO fixed assets shall be safeguarded in the same manner that would ordinarily be used to protect personal property. This includes:
- reasonable care to ensure protection from loss, theft or damage, and
- respect for the manufacturer’s recommendations on usage, care and maintenance, and any specialized instructions provided to WHO.
30 In cases of alleged misconduct concerning the use of WHO fixed assets the relevant Property Survey Committee (PSC) will inform IOS for further administrative action.
Misconduct resulting in financial loss
40 If misconduct is established concerning WHO fixed assets, it could result in:
- disciplinary measures further to Staff Rule 1110, and/or
- financial compensation for financial loss suffered by the Organization, further to Staff Rule 1112.
