10    Further to Staff Rule 490.3, a staff member who plans to take any step to change their nationality status must inform the Director-General before such action becomes final. When the new nationality is acquired, the staff member requests to register the newly acquired nationality. An administrative action is undertaken on the basis of official document effecting the change. A copy of the passport must be placed in the staff member's personnel record.

20    A staff member who plans to take any step to acquire another nationality status, in addition to the one(s) of which the Organization has already been informed, must take the same steps as those required of a staff member who is changing their nationality status.

30    The Director-General determines in each case what effect this may have on nationality status, place of residence and entitlements under the Staff Rules. The staff member will be informed accordingly when the administrative action is taken.

30    These provisions are not applicable to staff members holding temporary appointments as defined in Staff Rule 420.4 or to those appointed under Staff Rule 1320.
