10 As required in Staff Rule
530.1, supervisors are responsible for ensuring that staff members receive all necessary information to enable them to perform their work satisfactorily. The staff member may access the description of their functions in the online system. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring, in consultation with the staff member concerned and the Classification Specialist concerned either at headquarters or in the respective region, that the position description is kept up to date. The supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that the staff member is aware of the duties they are expected to perform, the extent of their responsibilities and who will evaluate their performance and on what basis. To achieve this, discussions between the supervisor and the staff member are to be held at frequent intervals, especially during the probationary period as well as at any other time when circumstances require it (e.g. change of supervisor, implementation of a new policy decision, etc.).
