10 On separation, staff members must comply with the clearance process as defined at the duty station. They must account for any non-expendable property of the Organization charged to them and for any library books or publications on loan to them. They must return to the issuing office, their United Nations laissez-passer and any identity cards issued by the Organization to them and their dependants. Staff members must ensure their personal and family member's information is updated prior to separation.
20 Staff members who, on the date of separation, have still charged to them any advance of annual leave, have deducted from their benefits on separation an amount equal to 1/260 of the annual net base salary plus post adjustment and allowances for each day of unearned advanced leave, except that in case of death, no claim is made for any advanced leave. If staff members are otherwise indebted to the Organization, appropriate deductions are made from the benefits due to them, but not from the Pension Fund benefits.
30 Professional and non-locally recruited General Service staff members must ensure their bank account details are updated as stated in III.10.16
Entitlements on separation.
Exit Questionnaire
40 The Exit Questionnaire is designed to provide insights into the reasons individuals leave WHO and their experience with the Organization. Data collected will be analysed with a view to creating a more enabling work environment. The adoption of the Exit Questionnaire reflects the Organization’s alignment with good HR practice in the UN Common System.
50 Following receipt of an e-mail notification containing a link to the online questionnaire, it is mandatory for staff members holding continuing, fixed-term and temporary appointments of one year or more to complete the Exit Questionnaire prior to separating from the Organization. Completion of the Questionnaire is also strongly encouraged for staff members holding temporary appointments of less than one year. Staff members will be required to confirm that they have completed the Questionnaire in the “Local Clearance Certificate” submitted prior to separation.
60 After completing the online Questionnaire on an anonymous basis, staff members may request a Face-to-Face Interview to provide any additional information they did not include in the Questionnaire itself. The Interview may be requested as follows, by contacting:
- in Headquarters, the HQ Focal Point in the HR Business Partner Unit (HBP/HRT) or the respective HR Business Partner/HR Business Associate in a HQ Division.
- in the Regional and Country Offices, the Regional HR Manager/Regional Focal Point.
